The utility of gabapentin use is documented in the treatment of neuropathic pain and other algias associated with inflammatorv processes. Likewise, its efficiency has been proven in chronic pain of the masticatory musculature. In relation to the treatment of Burning Mouth Syndrome conflictive results have been reported. Conclusions. More research is needed in this field, especially experiments designed to address the efficiency of gabapentin in the treatment TMJ disfunction and the burning mouth syndrome.
