Zusammenfassung

Oncocytomas are rare tumours, usually benign, that may arise in several organs of the body and typically occur in the parotid gland. We present a case of a 83-year-old female with 9 x 8,5 x 11,5 cm mass of the superficial and deep lobules of the parotid gland. Microscopic examinations showed a diffuse oncocytosis within a well-encapsulated neoplasm. We report a brief review of the literature, including a discussion of the pathogenesis, histologic characteristics and therapeutic features of this tumour.
