Abstract

The network of interests shaped between politicians and entrepreneurs during the first two decades of the Francoist regime became more relaxed in the Sixties. The Plan de Estabilización, Economic Policy liberalization and the opening to the international economy were the main reasons for this process. The business men or at least their own spokesmen believed ingenuously that prívate enterprise and free competition would come and would be respected by the State. Favouritism and privilege remained in the Spanish Economy, above all through the mixed firms taking refuge from the «planes de desarrollo». A good example of this was the ÜS capital invested and became integrated in the network, in search of economic favours.
