Resumo

The present article aims at making a study of some relative structures that show a division of the two inherent values of /que/: "transpositor" and pronoun. In numerous grammar examples do appear that are interpreted either as cases of duplication of syntactic functions or as cases with absence of preposition. Such examples show us a relative pronoun that finishes its function with the following "transposition": CLAUSE..---- .> ADJECTIVE due to the fact that there is another pronominal unity (accented or unaccented) that makes the anaphoric reproduction of its antecedent. In modern Spanish this pleonastic addition of a pronoun in constructions with relative /que/ is rather frequent, but it isn't always a pronominal redundancy because: 1) sometimes it helps to determine the reference of the relative pronoun in constructions when it is far from its antecedent. 2) It helps to differentiate between consecutive or causal values. 3) Sometimes the emphatic pronoun appears in cases with the absence of preposition and helps to specify exactly the sense.
