Hacia una definición de las variables pragmáticas en Psicología del Lenguaje

Resumen

This paper provides an overview and discusses the influence of some extralinguistic variables in language processing in the context of a wider task regarding the definition of pragmatic variables on Psychology of Language. It starts with an introduction about the necessity of taking in consideration the situational conditions of linguistic behavior followed by a revision of the concept of communicative situation; the central part of the article is devoted to the description of the main sources of situational variation: communicative goals, social context and channels of communication. In the final part of the article an example is shown of how situational factors can be integrated on a theory of linguistic activity.
