Abstract

Our objective is to obtain the level of usability of a software application over the different tasks for which it has been developed. Nowadays, usability is measured through different methods, however, all of them requiere people. We propose an alternative technique, which will be based on studies taken from human computer interaction science. It takes into account different aspects such as ergonomics (kinds of menu, number of options, font type, etc.) psychology (tima of memorization of a task, etc.), and so on. Finally, these studies provide a better way of creating a user interface for each of the characteristics mentioned. Thus, for every tasd presented in an application we will compare the way it has been designed with these studies, and its usability level could be penalized if it deviates from the ideal characteristics. We intend to reach this objective by using reasoning under uncertainty as in Bayes Theorem.
