Abstract

The studies developed in this thesis have the main object of the study and optimization of the heat straightening process. Bearing in mind this, two main lines of investigation have been developed: 1 � The study of the properties of the materials before and after the heating process. With this task the effect of the process in the material can be contrasted. 2 - The development of numerical models capable of predicting the behavior of the structural elements subjected to the flame during the heat straightening process. Five structural steels widely used in construction and in the industry have been selected to accomplish the main tasks exposed above. These steels are S235JR, S355J2, S460ML, S690QL and S890QL.
