Abstract

The different stages of formal education in Artistic Expression area tend to focus eminently on the student’s improvement of technical skills, simple things like being able to color without trespassing the lines, or more difficult ones like representing reality as faithfully as possible, among others. However, throughout the process, the students are often being constrained little by little, generating insecurities and almost completely overlooking the most needed training in the creativity field. The use of artistic references is a widely used strategy in creative processes. In this proposal it is suggested to bring this approach it to the secondary education classroom in a playful and tangible way, with the aim of preventing the creative blocks that students at this stage often face. The teacher’s accompaniment of the students in the creation of their own individual tool-file will stimulate their critical capacity and the search for their own “artistic language” according to their particular tastes.
