Abstract

Processing of Passenger Name Record (PNR) data plays anessential role in the fight against terrorism and serious crime in the Area ofFreedom, Security and Justice. This brief contribution discusses the mainrulings by the European Court of Justice on this matter, underlying the existence of significant changes on its reasoning and its importance for the regulation of the use of artificial intelligence technologies in self-learning systems.
