Abstract

The “Philosophical Vocations: Philosophy’s Role Game” project aims to investigate philosophical vocations among students while simultaneously developing an educational role-playing game with philosophical content. By engaging students as researchers under the guidance of a faculty member, the project seeks to enhance student’s research skills and understanding of academic research processes. Over a two-year period, students conduct a studiy to explore the factors influencing philosophical vocations, including interviews with philosophy teachers and influencers, and conducting a survey on philosophical vocations to philosophy students at various academic levels. Additionally, students collaborate to design and develop a role-playing game, incorporating philosophical concepts and themes. The game serves as an educational tool to promote active learning, critical thinking, and engagement with philosophy. The project’s outcomes include advancements in research skills, increased understanding of philosophical vocations, and enriched educational experiences for participants.
