Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present a co-simulation and small-signal analysis tool. The objective of the co-simulation tool is to provide a way of evaluating DER contribution to improve the resiliency of the distribution grid, both in MV and LV, when multiple DER are connected to it. The tool provides an environment to assess the impact of different choices for DER allocation, as well as functionality to identify potential threats to grid stability. This is achieved by inspecting the results of yearly simulations on the power flow or by identifying critical modes from the small-signal model of the grid.
