Abstract

One of the main difficulties experienced by new university students in scientific degrees is thestudy of many technical terms in a short period of time. Anki is an application to help duringboth the learning process and the memory strengthen of acquired concepts. It is a computertool based on the learning methodology of spaced review or spaced repetition, in which theworse internalized concepts are reviewed more frequently than the better integrated ones.Throughout the teaching of Histology courses in the Human Nutrition and Dietetics and FoodScience and Technology Degrees at the UAM during the 23/24 academic year, the professorhas used Anki as a means to prepare several question-answer sets corresponding to eachtopic. Student access to the application encourages their active involvement in learning andreviewing Histology contents. Consequently, a question bank has been generated, which was available for both the professor and alumni. Students who used Anki have shown greatsatisfaction with this study methodology, recommended its use in other courses and proposedimprovements to make it even more attractive
