Abstract

George is a music teacher at a distinguished educational center and Benjamin is a painter and gallery owner. Both are elderly residents of New York. After 39 years of happy coexistence, they decide to legalize their civil situation and get married. A group of family and friends attend the celebration. Shortly after the unforgettable event, problems arise that will affect the lives of George and Benjamin. Without explanation, George is fired from the educational center where he has worked for 12 years. As a result, the couple must leave their long-awaited apartment in Manhattan and enlist the temporary help of relatives and friends while they find affordable housing in another area of the city. Unexpected financial issues cause the two to live apart for a while. Benjamin moves to his nephew's apartment in Brooklyn, along with his wife and teenage son. And George is staying at the home of two police friends. The separation and coexistence in other people's homes causes Benjamin and George to feel nostalgia and loneliness. Therefore, they will have to solve an uncertain future full of difficulties and emotions.
