Abstract

Due to the rapidity of the changes in the business field, it is essential to teach future engineers in teamwork. Teams are one of the most established forms of work in the world because the problems are increasingly complex and it is not possible to address them individually. As a consequence, university higher education has introduced the transversal competence of teamwork. In this article, the degree of implementation of this competence in university technical education has been evaluated. For this purpose, six basic training subjects common to all the grades taught at the Polytechnic School of Gijón have been selected. The methodology used to evaluate their teaching guides has focused according to two approaches: the general and transversal competences and the methodologies and work plans they present. It has been concluded that all subjects take teamwork into account in the configuration of the subjects, although their application varies. 50% only considers it in the face-to-face mode and the other 50% promotes teamwork in the classroom with the follow-up and control of the teacher.
