Abstract
We revise the age of eruptive activity in the Central Spanish Volcanic Field. This volcanic field has 256 volcanoes and covers an area of 3,922 km2 in the province of Ciudad Real. By tephrochronological and morphoreruptive analysis, specially through the interferences between slope, fluvial and eruptive processes, we have identified 16 volcanoes whose relative ages range between the late Pleistocene and Holocene. Such volcanoes are maar of La Posadilla, maar of El Portillo, Malos Aires, maar of Los Espejuelos, Cerrajón de la Puebla, maar of Cuelgaperros, Coscoja, Columba, Cerro de Las Cuevas, Los Tontos, Atalaya I and II, Las Yeguas, Mesa del Villar, Alto de La Quintería and El Molino. The most recent eruptiveprocesses are holocenes and have been recorded in the volcanoes Mesa del Villar, Alto de La Quintería, El Molino and probably in Columba.
