Résumé

Child-to-parent violence is a phenomenon of great social transcendence due to its repercussion in family dynamics. Most of the research on this topic has been conducted in the USA and Spain, but in Latin American countries it is still scarce, as for example, in Chile. The objective of this study was to adapt and analyse the psychometric properties of the Child-to-Parent Violence Questionnaire, young version (CPV-Q), in a sample of 823 Chilean university students (M age=20.59; SD=1.97). The results support the four-factor structure of the original version and show adequate psychometric properties. In conclusion, this instrument is useful for the assessment of child-to-parent violence in Chile and the high prevalence of this phenomenon indicates the need to continue researching on this type of violence in this country.
